Contract to Cash was Orb's first additional product beyond the core billing platform, and it came directly from what accounting and finance users were telling us. They were spending days each month manually translating signed order form deals into Orb subscriptions, rekeying pricing terms, commitments, and discount structures from contracts into the platform before billing could even begin. We wanted to use AI to automate this workflow so users could simply drag and drop a signed contract, or connect their Salesforce, and Orb would automatically generate subscriptions for them to review and approve. I led design for the end to end experience, partnering with the CEO and Engineering on the contract upload flow, the review page where users verified auto-generated subscriptions against the original PDF before creating them, and a CSV usage upload flow that let finance teams get usage data into Orb without a full engineering implementation. This lowered the barrier to getting started and made it possible for finance to evaluate and adopt Orb on their own. Contract to Cash gave Orb a new wedge into accounts, cut the integration cost that had historically slowed down onboarding, and established the pattern for how Orb could expand beyond billing into adjacent finance workflows.
